MIXED MEDIA RELIEF SCULPTURE
My mixed media relief sculpture series invites viewers to explore an imaginative aerial landscape where the past and present coexist harmoniously. Crafted from intricately layered cardboard, epoxy clay, foil, and acrylic paint, each piece captures contemporary topographical information interwoven with historical elements, including the renowned ancient Mississippi River course map patterns designed by Harold Fisk. These dynamic sculptures feature animal effigies inspired by the ancient Native American Mississippian Culture, seamlessly integrating into the terrain and enriching the narrative of this land. The result is a thought-provoking dialogue between time and geography, prompting reflection on how our historical landscapes shape the modern world.
