The tools and processes used to make wall sculpture might be of interest to some of you. The circular shape is a project I’m working on this week. It looks like a giant pizza. It is a 5’ diameter wall sculpture made out of locally quarried rock and minerals. It weighs about 175 -200 lbs. The black A frame against the wall is part of a chain hoist to raise and lower the sculpture onto the saw horses. I am using a ready made construction adhesive to apply small hand cut quartz pieces to the round expanded metal frame. I normally use a two part epoxy resin paste as an adhesive, but it is a lot of work to mix at the end of a long day. There are a couple of options to hang the piece on a wall. The simplest method is to use a “ French Cleat” heavy mirror hanging system

( rated @300 lbs) sold in big box hardware stores.
