Patricia deadheaded the rose bush after the first flush of blooms. She removed the petals from the stems and collected them on a drying tray. After the petals dried, she said she was going to make "botanicals" from the dried petals. The fresh petals filled the drying tray and made a tight rectangular composition. The petals still had their color and make an interesting subject to draw, but I had to work fast!
